# How to set the D-Link DIR-1253/DIR-835M as Repeater mode
1. Connect your PC to the DIR-1253/DIR-835M router using an ethernet cable.
2. Access the router’s web interface by entering its IP address into a web browser on the address bar then press enter.
3\. The page will be prompted to enter a username and password. The default username and the default password are:
**Username:** Admin
**Password:** (as printed on the device label bottom of the router)
Note: If you have changed the password and cannot remember it, you will need to reset the router to factory defaults.
4. Once logged in, Click **Network** at the top of the page, and then select **Easymesh > Disabled Easymesh Networking.**

5. Once disabled easymesh, go to **Network > Wireless Relay > Enabled wireless relay**, wait for awhile for router to scan all the nearby wireless router, once the wireless SSID that you would like to repeat shown in the list, click on connect
6. You need to key in the Wireless Network Password of the Main wireless network here and click on **Connect**
7\. 7 DIR-1253/DIR835M will reboot once you click on **connect** , once the reboot done, it will show **Connected Successfully**, you are now successfully setup the repeater mode for your DIR-1253/DIR-835M
