# How to set the D-Link DIR-612 Router as a Bridge / Access Point mode

1. Connect your PC or Smartphone to the DIR-612 router either via Wi-Fi or using an ethernet cable.
2. Access the router’s web interface by entering its IP address into a web browser on the address bar <http://192.168.0.1> then press enter.

3. The page will be prompted to enter a username and password. The default username and the default password are:

   **Username**: admin

   **Password**: (as printed on the device label bottom of the router)

   <mark style="color:$primary;">Note: If you have changed the password and cannot remember it, you will need to reset the router to factory defaults.</mark>
4. Once logged in, Click **Internet** at the top of the page, and then select **My Internet Connection is**: from the menu on the middle.
5. Under **My Internet Connection is**, choose **Bridge/AP** mode (In this mode, all ethernet ports and wireless interfaces are bridged together and the NAT function is disabled. All WAN-related functions, including the firewall, are not supported.) then hit **Save**.

6. &#x20;Saving the settings (this will take 50 secs to save the new settings)

7. Take an Ethernet cable and plug one end into any **LAN** ports on the main router, not the (WAN port on the main router).

   Plug the other end of the ethernet cable into one of the **LAN** ports on the secondary router (access point).

8. Log in to the admin page again by the IP getting from main router. You should see that the connection type is set to "AP" and the network status is shown as "Connected" on the status page, indicating that the router is now in Bridge/AP mode.
