How to setup AP mode for D-Link DIR-1253/DIR-835M

D-Link DIR-1253/DIR-835M Access Point (AP) Mode allows a device to create a new Wi-Fi network by connecting to a wired router, enabling wireless devices to access the internet.

  1. Connect your PC to the DIR-1253/DIR-835M router using an ethernet cable.

  2. Access the router’s web interface by entering its IP address into a web browser on the address bar http://192.168.0.1 then press enter.

  1. The page will be prompted to enter a username and password. The default username and the default password are:

    Username: Admin

    Password: (as printed on the device label bottom of the router)

    Note: If you have changed the password and cannot remember it, you will need to reset the router to factory defaults.

  2. Once logged in, Click home at the top of the page, and then select Internet setting.

  1. Select Bridge mode and click on OK

  1. Allow 1 minute for router to restart, once done, you are succefully setup DIR-1253/ DIR-835M in AP ( Access point ) Mode
